Deloitte Consultant Celebrates First Zoom Bingo Win

In a Bold Move, Topher Johnson won the Deloitte daily Office Zoom Bingo contest. Johnson is part of a new trend called "Zoom Bingo." Johnson and his colleagues at Deloitte each create a card of activities that a person has to try to complete during a single day's worth of Zoom calls. If a person can complete all the tasks in a single day of calls, they are the winner and become the game moderator for the next week. The Moderator sends out the cards the day before by 5:00 PM, leaving the contestants little time to prepare for the next day's calls.

" I came so close yesterday that I had to win today," stated Johnson in a Snap post. Yesterday Johnson was one square away from winning when the opossum that he was supposed to kill and stuff bit him on the hand and escaped somewhere in his apartment. This was not Johnson's first brush with a victory. Two weeks before, Johnson was again one square away from winning when he was unable to get a homeless man to eat an orange Skittle out of his belly button during a half-hour project status call.

In an interview with Consulting Magazine, Sandra Breber, Chief People Officer of Deloitte, stated, " I was hopeful about the game and how it might drive for better employee engagement during these times of social distancing. It turns out the staff loves it! I do feel bad about some of the things that happen to the animals, but I guess it is all in fun. I feel that this game could push our Glass Door ratings through the roof." stated Breber.

Fact Checker: I feel sorry for the poor homeless man and for the opossum.
